This is a striking vintage ladies Lodenfrey red wool coat that is trimmed in green. This red wool coat has a matching over vest with a four button closure and can be worn either fully closed or open at the top to create lapels (see various photos). The vest has a slanted button down flapped pocket at the right side. The coat has epaulets that can be used in conjunction with the vest. It has padded shoulders, dolman styled sleeves, a five button closure, long sleeves and a slant pocket built into either side. It is made in an above the ankle length and has a deep centre pleat down the back. This red wool coat is fully lined in a printed teal green acetate fabric. All buttons are plastic simulated horn.
Fabric: Content label reads 80% wool with 20% polyamide. The label also reads Made in Austria. Lodenfrey is embroidery at the interior neck area.
Sizing: There is no size label on this red wool coat, and although it should fit a large size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, taking the thickness of fabric into account:
Shoulders: 18” across the epaulets
Sleeves: 24 1/2” long from the seam
Bust: 45” around, taken under the arms
Waist: 43” around
Hips: 46” around
Hemline: 52” around
Overall length: 50”, measured flat at the back from the neck seam
Condition: This red wool coat is in very good condition with no wear, tear, staining - there is the slight scent of Fabreeze freshener, but I will air the coat to try to eliminate this. The coat looks like it saw little use.
This is a nice quality red wool coat, sure to be noticed!
